Workers seen through a gap between wooden pallets in GapFiller's Pallet Pavillion. The photographer comments, "Though it looks strange and Photoshopped this is a straight shot through pallets painted blue. The Pallet Pavilion is built on the site of the demolished Crowne Plaza Hotel. It was built by volunteers, mainly students and construction engineers over 6 weeks. Here students are being given health and safety instructions before helping out on completing the temporary structure".

The students interviewed include (Paityn Ower from Avondale Primary School; Leah Temesvari, Ryan Cleaver, Jenna Hayes, and Logan Emery from Kaiapoi High School; Nikora Webster-Epiha, Grace Smith, and Natasha Gordon from Wainoni School; and Harry Loughan, Rebecca Lane, Scott Price, Maltin Tauave, Charlie Kavanagh, and Amy Sisson from Linwood College. This video was part of The Press's 'Christchurch, one year after February 22, 2011' series.

A video of an interview with Mayumi Asakawa, a Japanese student from Kanagawa prefecture who was in Christchurch during the 22 February 2011 earthquake. Asakawa returned to Christchurch to ring the Peace Bell in the Botanic Gardens during the Festival of Flowers commemorative ceremony.

A video of an interview with Alexandra Harteveld-Turnball, a Year 13 student from Marian College, about her school project making jewellery from earthquake rubble. Harteveld-Turnball and six friends were given access to the PricewaterhouseCooper site to gather rubble for their project. The jewellery will be sold at markets, with all proceeds going to St John.
