The driveway has collapsed into a large sink hole in front of the Shirley Burger King. Warning tape cordons off the area. The photographer comments, "These photos show our old house in River Rd and recovery work around Richmond and St Albans. Shirley Burger King has driveway issues".

Photograph captioned by BeckerFraserPhotos, "This loop of the Avon encircles Horseshoe Lake and gives the area its name and its attraction as a place to live. The land close to the Avon River has severe issues with slumping, lateral movement and liquefaction, so that much of it is red zoned and the houses will be demolished".

A sign on a fence on Marine Parade in North New Brighton reads "We need your support. We say yes to a new local high school. Northeast Secondary Education Committee." The photographer comments, "A bike ride to New Brighton and the beach 3 weeks after the Feb 22 quake. Roads were still very rough and under reconstruction. I think this issue may be shelved for a while. Unless Shirley Boys High and Avonside Girls High can't be rebuilt, of course".

A faded yellow sticker stuck to the window of a house on Avonside Drive. It has been issued by the Christchurch City Council and reads, "Restricted Use. No entry except on essential business. Warning: This building has been damaged and its structural safety is questionable. Enter only at own risk. Subsequent aftershocks or other events may result in increased damage and danger, changing this assessment. Re-inspection may be required. The damage observed from external inspection is as described below." It goes on to set out the conditions for entry to the building and information about the inspector. The sign is so faded that the handwritten information is almost illegible.
