Police investigate first cases of fraudulent earthquake claims

Christchurch police have made their first arrest for false claims over earthquake damage, charging a local woman with obtaining by deception.

An earthquake aftershock measuring five-point-one on the Richter Scale hit Christchurch this morning, just after six o'clock.
