The old Railway Station clock tower on Moorhouse Avenue with plywood and steel reinforcement covering two sides, a crane hanging over top. The brickwork suffered extensive cracking during the earthquake making it in need for reinforcement. The clock has stopped at around 16:35, the time of the earthquake.

In total more than $30,000 was raised for three charities at this year's annual tournament held at the Taupo Golf Club. As well as the $8200 raised for the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Fund, two local charities Taupo Big Brother Big Sister and the Taupo Therapy Centre, each received $11,000 each from this year's fundraising effort".

The result of the magnitude 7.1 Christchurch earthquake at 4.35am on September 4th 2010. Taken from Dallington Terrace looking towards Avonside Drive. This pumping station used to be level. When the tide is in that flax bush on the bend appears to be growing from the middle of the river, suggesting the land has slumped about a meter.
