Several vehicles on Gloucester Street which have been crushed by falling masonry from Wave House (Winnie Bagoes Gourmet Pizza Bar). Emergency personnel have spray painted two of the cars with the word "Clear" to indicate they have been checked for trapped or injured people. The scene has been cordoned off by New Zealand Fire Service tape.

A photograph of the entrance to the Brannigan's building on the corner of Gloucester Street and Oxford Terrace. Many of the windows down the centre of the building have broken, and the glass has fallen onto the footpath below. USAR codes have been spray painted on one of the front windows. A red sticker in the door indicates that the building is unsafe to enter.

A photograph of the earthquake damage to a group of shops on Colombo Street near the intersection of Kilmore Street. Large sections of the top storeys of the buildings have collapsed. Most of the bricks and other rubble have been cleared from the footpath. USAR codes have been spray-painted on many of the shops' windows. The closest store has been demolished and the rubble has been cleared away.

The roof of the building has caved in and can be seen inside the building through the smashed windows. The front facade has begun to peel away at the right. Wire fencing and tape has been used to create a cordon around the building.

A photograph of mannequins lying on the footpath outside the R.N.A clothing store on Colombo Street. The mannequins are dressed in adventure gear. USAR codes have been spray-painted on the glass door and window of the store. A yellow sticker has also been stuck to the door, indicating that access to the building is restricted.

A photograph of students in Eastgate Mall with a trolley full of painted rocks. The students are participating in a workshop facilitated by Gap Filler and Youthtown where they painted these rocks. The rocks will be used to create Rock on Eastside, an outdoor lounge and art space on the corner of Aldwins Road and Linwood Avenue.

A view of part of the former Canterbury Public Library complex after the 22 February 2011 earthquake. On the left the 1870s section is visible. It has been red-stickered and the ground around it has been spray painted with the words, "Danger, wall". The building on the right is the former Librarian's House, which was built in 1894. It has been enclosed in a safety fence, and a section of masonry from its gable has collapsed. Containers have been stacked between the buildings to reinforce their walls.
