A crack next to the Avon River caused by the ground slumping after the 4 September earthquake. A blue pipe has been laid over the crack. Many kilometres of these temporary water pipes have been run overground in Avonside to supply houses with water.

The damaged chimney of a house on the corner of Galbraith Avenue and Avonside Drive. The top section of the chimney has fallen off and the whole chimney has moved away from the building's wall. The chimney has been weather proofed with a yellow tarpaulin.

The brick facade has fallen from the former Princess Cinema in New Brighton, exposing the rooms inside, and crushing a car parked below. The photographer comments, "The front of the old Princess Cinema in New Brighton after the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand on 22 February. Under the pile of bricks is a luckily unoccupied blue car. The word CLEAR on the broken facade is to show that there is no one in the car. This building has now been knocked down as it was so dangerous".

A photograph of the largest section of the Townsend Telescope recovered from the rubble of the Observatory tower. The telescope was housed in the tower at the Christchurch Arts Centre. It was severely damaged when the tower collapsed during the 22 February 2011 earthquake.

A video of an interview with Wendy Rushworth, whose house was fenced off despite not being scheduled for demolition. Falcon Construction accidently added Rushworth's property to a list of homes ready for demolition. The company has since apologised to Rushworth and removed the fencing.
