The South New Brighton jetty was rebuilt a couple of years before the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes wrecked it. Then, it was straight, level and all railings on left side were intact. Was closed to the public for about four years but is open now.

This is a temporary pile of silt piled on the old Bexley landfill sight. Some trucks are addng to the pile, while other truck and trailer units are taking it away to the old Bottle Lake landfill sight, a few km to the north of here.
One of the most beautiful pieces of wall art (added to the blank walls after buildings were demolished following the earthquakes) in Christchurch, is now being hidden by a new building in front of it.

A historic plate smashed in the February Christchurch earthquake. Ashley Gorge Scenic Reserve was established by my Great-Grandmother (maternal) many years ago.
Built in the early 1960s for the Lyttelton Road Tunnel, it was severley damaged in the February 2011 earthquake and is not currently used.
Demolition of the relatively new seven-storey Waters Edge Apartments in Ferrymead continues. CERES Environmental NZ are doing the job for CERA (Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority).
Some will be pleased to see this block go as there was lot of resentment to it being built on the site of the old Ferrymead Tavern,

The sea wall at Beachville Road, Redcliffs, after the earthquake. It used to be straight and level - not now!

The Subway shop in the High Street Mall has not operated since lunch time on the 22nd February 2011 when the most damaging of Christchurch and Canterbury's earthquakes struck. I assume the building is still to be demolished.

Pigeons sit on the remains of one of the tallest buildings in Christchurch that was 95% demolished two or three years ago. The basement (now filled with water) and the columns remain.
