Remembering 22 February 2011

Kia ora Koutou,

As we mark the 10th anniversary of the 6.3 magnitude earthquake that devastated Ōtautahi Christchurch, we remember those who were lost, and send our deepest aroha to those who have suffered.

Nine years ago on this day the Christchurch Press published an ‘In Memoriam Special Feature’ telling the stories of the 185 people who lost their lives in the earthquake. This commemoration issue remains a powerful reminder of why we must learn from what occurred on the 22 February 2011 and do everything we can to ensure future disasters have less tragic outcomes.

Tena Koutou i o tatou tini mate

Haere, haere, haere
